Good friends are not replaceable

Maybe you remember this pic from a couple of years ago.  The couple on the left are Jared and Marisa Fruciano.  They have been serving here for four years as International Servants.  Their assignment here, to set up the Kingdom Hall Construction group to build and repair Kingdom Halls, is over.  They have now been assigned to South Africa.  We said goodbye to them yesterday.  Seeing them go was the end of an era.  They have been a huge reason we have loved our assignment here in Guam so much.  A huge hole is left in their absence.  We know that they will be such an asset in South Africa.  True friends never leave your life.  We love you guys!

I know, I know, the brothers had no idea what they were doing putting us together.  We are having a blast together.  Jason and Tony always got to work together back home.  Even though Char and I lived across the hall back home, we did not get to spend a ton of time together.  But we are having so much fun being together.  This time will be something I cherish.  Char got us mugs from Anthropologie for our morning coffee breaks.  Learning so much from her.  Love you Char!

 They are really enjoying service.  They were assigned to our congregation so we have really been enjoying having time together.  Char already has a study.

And, of course, Tony is teaching us how to play volleyball.  It has been a blast!

They made it!  Safe and sound.  We were so excited when we saw them actually come through those doors.  We had to keep pinching ourselves.  In case you don't know them, Tony and Char Perez are our good friends from home.  They are here on a three month International Volunteer Construction assignment.  Having a piece of home here is just what we needed.






And Fausta made sure Tony and Char got a proper welcome!

Training

This is Peter and Debbie Sullivan.  When Jason was moved into Maintenance, he got to receive training from a brother sent here from Australia.  We really enjoyed their visit.  And Peter's help really allowed Jason to feel capable to handle his new job.  We had to make sure they got to enjoy a Guam sunset beachside.

90 Pound Parrot Fish!

Can you even believe this?  Our friend John, an experienced diver, caught this parrot fish in an area that you only fish if you know what you are doing.  90 pounds!  Can you imagine swimming to the surface with that fish?  It needs to have small print saying 'results not typical'.

We want to apologize for the lack of posts lately.  It has been three months since we posted.  So much has happened.  We put our blog on private.  Sorry if you were not able to view it as of late...but honestly, there has been nothing posted.  We write this blog so that close family and friends can keep up with what is happening with us.  Unfortunately, people we don't know were abusing the fact that our blog is public.  We hope we have put a stop to the problem.  I guess that is how a public blog goes.  Anyway, we are up and running again, and have a lot to catch up on...
